HIGHLANDS REGION



The Highlands is one of the four natural regions of the country. It is composed of the provinces: Pichincha, Carchi, Tungurahua, Chimborazo, Cañar, Azuay, Loja, Imbabura, Bolivar and Cotopaxi.


This region is characterized by tourism Adventure and its impressive mountains, volcanoes and glaciers. Its 10 provinces have historically cities such as Quito and Cuenca, and craft centers as Otavalo.

The Quito City is the capital of Ecuador.
